First entry onsite

Let me introduce myself. My name is Simon Brentford and I fly camera for team Fix in the 4-way AA class. I am also the author of this website and responsible for this weekend's reporting. If you have the time, feel free to write comments against some of the posts and even ask a question or two.

For those are you still umming and arrring about coming this weekend, the weather forecast is looking better and better. Both Saturday and Sunday are expected to be sunshine and low winds. So what are you waiting for, brave the Friday afternoon traffic and to Skydive Hibaldstow.

Lots of teams are turning up hour by hour, however today is overcast, so no lifts have gone up. However if you have to have a bad weather day, then its better its today.

Apparantly (I have not had a chance to read it online yet) there has been a sweepstake running on UKskydiver.co.uk to decide when the competition will be completed by and how many teams will turn up.

Sadly I did not get to know about this until it closed, however being the author of this news and blog section, I am making my own unofficial prediction. The forecast is better than last year, the tunnels have been busy as have the UKSL competitions this season, so I think there will be 43 teams. I also know how fast the Dorniers go and if the Meet Director starts at 07:00am, I think the whole competition can be done in 18 hours of flying time. So my guess is 18:50 on Sunday with a few breaks.
