Jumping didn't get going until past 4pm, so with only 3 hours of jumping things are a little bit behind schedule. That being said, the 8way Senior are halfway through round 3 already and most competitors have done their round 2 jumps.
The AAA is looking like it did last year with MicroClim8te taking a clear lead of 4 points already over BritChicks, The girls have put a good performance in so far considering they have done no jumps this year and they have Ane Brentford and Audrey Row jumping with them.
The BCPA (British Colleigate Parachute Association) are fielding 2 teams - 1 in Rookie and 1 in Intermediate for the 8way as well.
In the Freefly A, teams Varial and Freefly Euphoria had exactly the same total after 2 rounds until Varial changed the ending of their free round. This gave them a 0.3 kick over Euphoria.
Speed skydiving has seen a new UK record (measured under the FAI rules) for Jason Bird who did a fantastic 450.04 Km/hr (282mph). He has put a lot of training in this year to improve his performance. Speaking to him, a part of his training plan is to count to different stages in freefall marked by bringing in different parts of the arms and legs to the body as he increases his speed. Max Hurd also decided to appear in an old-school speed skiing red PVC suit which drew a lot of attention (photos to come soon when they have passed censorship!).
Wheel off tomorrow are at 9am.
