The mark of a good team

I did my first competition back in 1995 and have done quite a few since then. It occurs to me that in every competition I have never seen in either my team and anyone's else's a perfect series of rounds. There is always space for improvement and usually there will be a bum jump. I can remember chatting to a world champion a long time ago about performance and he said that all the thousands of jumps he had made, he thought he might have come close only once to a perfect jump and that was not even certain.

Unfortunately, sometimes I have seen complete melt downs which have led to a collapse in the points average of a team and even on one occasion a long time ago an early exit from the comp.

Having looked at the AAA category just now I have seen all the teams make some mistakes, but what makes a good team is to come back fighting never giving up and show your competitors what you are made of. After all being a competitor should never be a short term view of just one competition, its about learning to perform over a whole skydiving career.
