Despite a brief weather hold, the dropzone managed to do Nationals in a day for everybody except the Speed Skydivers who still have 2 rounds to go. So there is a massive party kicking off at the dropzone and the awards ceremony is about to start.
So in the 8way Senior, despite a few close shaves, The Ex-Presidents won by a margin of 5 points - not bad considering they only did 17 jumps. In second place are MicroClim8t who closed the gap between rounds 6 and 8. But the Ex-Presidents had a storming round 9 to take 4 points and the gold. In bronze position with a solid 9.9 avergae are the Thunderbirds who team train at Hibaldstow.
In the 8-way Intermediate, there were only 2 teams, Brownian Motion and last years Remote Control Squirrels. Right from round one, it was obvious who was going to win and who was going to come second. Well done to Brownian Motion with a total of 53 and to Remote Control Squirrel with a total of 27.
Moving on the Freefly A and Freestyle B. There was an amazing double win from Varial Freefly and Varial Freestyle who took the crown from Euphoria. Both teams really upped there game this year and put some impressive routines on show which they had been working on for the whole season. So Varial won with an outstanding 59 point and in the silver position, Euphoria with a total of 57.5. In Bronze with a credible 51.9 were Volocity Freefly. They in fact took the high score on Round 2.
Freefly B was equally exciting. Well done to Osirus Freefly who took gold with a total of 27.5 and D.A Pandaz with a total of 32.3. The bronze position was the most contended with Terminal Atrocity and Not Flat On This Occasion fighting it out. NFOTC fought back round after round (from an amazing R2 by Terminal Atrocity). When it came to the final round though Terminal Atrocity had taken it by 1 point.
In the Freestyle A, as already mentioned Varial Freefly took the gold with a great score of 56.2. Speaking to Adam Dare, they think with the right training, next year they could be in with a chance at Chicago's World Cup. Revolution Freestyle came 2nd with a score of 47.9 and Euphoria in the Bronze with a score of 41.3.
Lastly for tonight, we had a two way contest between Clumsy Ninjas and Pinky And The Brain. Clumsy Ninjas took the gold with a 37.7 and Pinky And The Brian (great name) took silver with a total of 31.4.
So tomorrow, the Speed Skydivers have just 2 rounds to complete and that is Nationals complete for another year. Also more photos to come tomorrow.
