Welcome to the first post of 2015 for the UK Skydiving Championships. The word of the street is that there are already over 50 teams registered for this years' 4way event.
Anyway, this year there will again be 3 Dornier G92's on hand to jump all the teams to 10,500ft. The AAA categoryis going to be hotly contested this year. Satori are back in action after not taking part in the 2014 season. They have been training at Skydive Algarve and Hibaldstow this year. It also remains to be seen if Voodoo who won last year will actually compete as they have not been seen at any of the other competitions and one of their team is recovering from an injury.
Voodoo won with a 19.5 average and only 1 point average behind them taking silver were Vision 99. Speaking to Peter Mather, they have been training hard all season (albeit, out of a Twin Beech and Twin Otter, not a Dornier) and are ready to try take another podium position.
Hot on their trails are the NFTO girls team who recently scored a 17.5 average at the Hibaldstow Cup and 4Mula who have had player / coach Joey Jones jumping with them since last year. Either of these teams could easily upset the leaderboard as well. NFTO have recently been selected to represent the UK at the forthcoming World Air Games in December and this year is also a selection year for the World Championships in Chicago in 2016.
