We have a great story for you. It starts with the equivalent of a speed dating night in the world of 4-way last October called Meet, Greet & Compete. It wasn't even about the jumping, just a Saturday night event where like-minded skydivers could get together with the intention of competing at Nationals!
Out of that came the Lightening Ducks who have just won the Rookie Gold class, well done! Over the year, they did around 50 jumps together with their coach Stubert Ferglestein who is a regular coach and load organiser at the dropzone. Over the year, they have steadily improved and round by round they have been chipping away to take gold with 10 point lead.
And if that was not enough, 2 other Hib teams coached by Stubert have taken silver and bronze! So well done to the Trojan Rabits with a score of 66. They have really struggled with work commitments to find common days together where they could train, but with some perseverance, they found themselves with an 8.25 average.
Lastly, in the bronze position are the best named team of the year - Fat Birds Can't Fly. We have had some sympathy for the manifest calling their name out over the tanoy system! The are a particularly close group of friends who have really got into the spirit of teamwork (t-shirts and other branded merchandise). They scored 62 - nicely done.
