A rarely used rule from the formation skydiving and VFS rule books is about to be invoked as a result of the teams returning for the roll-over weekend starting this coming Friday.
It deals with the possibility of teams being able practice the uncompleted rounds before next weekend. Of course, this can never be allowed to happen, so the points are re-drawn. The question is, are the unused formations included in the draw only, or, is the entire dive pool used again? This is what the rules state:

In the event of the competition event not being completed, a re-draw will be carried out on the Friday evening (date / time as per the admin instruction) on that next weekend as follows:
In the event of the competition event not being completed, a re-draw will be carried out on the Friday evening (date / time as per the admin instruction) on that next weekend as follows:
- FS Rookie / A / AA– All unused formations first and, if more rounds are required, then all formations will be used again to generate only the remaining rounds required.
- FS AAA – unused formations only.
VFS
Part 1 - Section 7 Reserve Weekend
Should the competition not complete then the reserve weekend will be used. Any teams who are not present for any
round will be called as scheduled for that round and failure to attend will result in a nil score for that round only.
Any Rounds incomplete at the end of weekend one will be disregarded. All teams will then complete the
round/rounds with the Reserve Weekend re-draw only for incomplete rounds.
Part2 - 4.2.4. Redraw use of Dive Pool
In the event of the reserve weekend being used. Any incomplete rounds will be
discarded. All blocks and random formations excluding those blocks and random formations already draw and used
in any fully completed rounds, will be placed into a container along with any previously undrawn blocks or random
formations, and the redraw will take place in the manner set out in 4.2.2 and 4.2.3. above, subject to the restrictions in
this rule 4.2.4.
Summary
So in essence, that means that all unused formations will be prioritised first and only if they have been used will peviously jumped formations be used again. This will happen in the Rookie class! We strongly encourage all the teams to make the effort to return for the roll-over weekend - we want to see lots of scores on the board! Not only that, knowing what your team is capable of can only come from completing the comp and getting that team average. See you next weekend!
