Kate Charters offers her response to the recent question posed here regarding reduced speed judging. She offers an excellent alternative which aims to keep all sides happy. Remember that many people want a 50% judging speed, however this doubles the time it takes for the judges to plow through the rounds:
"In answer to the question of reducing speed from 100% to 75% say, we would have to make it across the board for the whole competition, for every round to make it fair. The question of reducing the speed is ongoing with the IPC and the FAI judges throughout the world.
I had a meeting with Bedford tunnel and Ruth Cooper (Chief Judge for tunnel). It has been agreed for next year that if a team scores 35 points or more the judges will watch a second viewing at 75% and third viewing at 100%.
Competitors comments are always welcome and it would be useful if comments could be sent to either myself or Martin Soulsby so that we can ask our delegate to put suggestions, thoughts to IPC.
Kate Charters"
